Find My Fan: Whole House Fan Configurator

Step 1 of 6

Tell us about your home.

We'll use this to filter out fans that won't work for your space and recommend the right CFM range.

Step 2 of 6

Elite or Performance?

Both lines are built by ComfortCool and backed by our warranty. The difference is in the engineering tier.

Centric Air
Elite Series
German-engineered, precision-balanced motors. 30% more airflow, 33% less energy than standard motors. The premium choice for demanding climates or buyers who want the best.
15-yr warranty 40,000 hrs rated ECM available R-5 to R-13 damper
From $1,049
Best for: demanding climates, large homes, max efficiency
QA Deluxe
Performance Series
Heavy-duty aluminum housing, American Assembled. Delivers excellent CFM performance at a price point most homeowners find easy to justify. Outperforms every comparable fan in its class.
10-yr warranty R-5 damper standard Standard & ECM American Assembled
From $849
Best for: most homes, value-conscious buyers
Step 3 of 6

Standard or ECM motor?

ECM motors cost more upfront but use significantly less electricity. We'll show you the payback math for your home.

Standard Motor
Reliable single-speed motor. Lower upfront cost. Proven performance for decades. A solid choice when energy efficiency is a secondary concern.
~$0.12/hr to run Single speed Lower upfront cost
ECM Motor
Electronically commutated motor — the same technology used in Tesla and modern HVAC systems. Uses up to 65% less electricity than a standard motor. Variable speed, quieter, smarter.
~$0.04–0.08/hr Variable speed 65% less energy Pays back in 2–4 yrs
+$148–300 vs standard, depending on line
Step 4 of 6

Which damper insulation?

The damper seals your attic when the fan isn't running. Higher R-value = better insulation = lower heating costs in winter.

R-5 gravity backdraft damper in closed position — sealing attic from living space
R-5
Standard Insulation
Single-layer insulated damper. Sufficient for mild climates where winters stay above 40°F.
Mild climates CA Coast, South Included standard
R-13 Cold Climate Motorized Damper, bottom view, electric actuator visible
R-13
Cold Climate Motorized
Motorized, gasket-sealed damper with R-13 insulation, more than 2.5× the standard R-5. Seals tight when the fan is off. Recommended for cold-winter climates.
Cold winters Most of US +$225
Step 5 of 6

Where will it be installed?

Most installs are ceiling-mounted. Wall installs with an R-5 damper need a separate adapter; R-13 dampers support wall installation natively.

Ceiling
Standard installation
Mounted horizontally between joists in the ceiling. The default install for most homes — no extra hardware required.
No adapter Included
Vertical wall mount adapter — required for wall installs with R-5 damper
Wall
Vertical mount
Mounted vertically through a wall. With an R-5 damper this requires the Vertical Wall Mount Adapter to brace the unit.
Wall adapter +$69
Step 6 of 6

How do you want to control it?

Available controls depend on your motor and damper. We'll only show options that fit.
